Lockheed Martin has been in South Carolina for 35 years, serving as an anchor in the Upstate region for the Aerospace and Defense industries through maintaining and modifying military aircraft for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, Customs and Border Protection, foreign military allies, etc. Now with its F-16 Fighting Falcon production line coming to Greenville, the area and state are poised for continued growth as it becomes the production home of the most advanced 4th generation fighter in the world. As a result, its highly skilled and experienced workforce of approximately 500 people is expected to grow by 400 new jobs over the next several years.
